Date of dining experience: August 17, 2016
Place: Ni Hao Asian Cuisine
Location: 289 Northland Center in State College, PA
Appetizers: Vegetable Spring Roll (2 for $1.75) and Philadelphia Roll (8 pieces for $3.75) - The price is certainly right! The spring rolls were pretty good, but a little small. The Philadelphia roll was okay, but I thought it had entirely too much cream cheese in it.
Meal: General Tso's Chicken (from the Chinese Style Dishes section) - This was much better than at China Wok. However, I ordered it "extra spicy" and could hardly taste any spice at all! I don't know if they forgot, are wimps, or think other people are wimps, but I really like a little spice to my meal!
Overall, this is the best Asian restaurant I have tried in State College so far (I've only tried two). I do recommend this place. If you order take-out, it's pretty quick. If you want to eat in, they have a very large buffet selection that includes a Grill and Hibachi Noodle Bar, BBQ, Cantonese Dim Sum, Sushi, and Dessert. I love some good Dim Sum, but am hesitant to try it off a buffet. I'm just not sure it's going to be as authentic or nearly as good as the real deal.
Give this place a try and let me know what you think! Enjoy!
