Date of dining experience: October 23, 2015
Place: Ciao Ristorante and Enoteca
Location: 1650 N. Kingshighway #102 in Cape Girardeau, MO
This is the second post for Ciao and I believe my meal this time was better than the first!
Appetizers: Carpaccio of Beef ($10) and Tuscan Pate ($10). Both of these were fantastic. The Carpaccio is one of our favorites and definitely a go-to. The Carpaccio is thinly sliced rare beef topped with arugula and lemon aioli. The Pate is chicken liver pate with capers, lemon zest, fresh herbs, and parmigiano reggiano.
Salad: Caesar Salad ($8) - This is a great salad. They actually have real anchovies in their dressing and place some whole ones on the salad for you as well. Delicious!
Meal: Pasta Special ($18) - This was wonderful. I forget what it was called, but it is kind of like a combination of cannelloni and gnocchi with a red sauce.
Wine: Barbera D'alba - This was an absolutely delicious dry red. $40
Dessert: Coffee ($3) and Pannatone ($8) - AMAZING coffee and a fantastic dessert. You can't end a meal much better than that!
Cheese: The manager put together a bag of gourmet cheeses imported from Italy for us ($50). He threw in a container of white anchovies for free because we were talking about how my wife makes her own Caesar salad dressing (and it is amazing).
If you still haven't been, I highly recommend you go and try this place! It is absolutely wonderful and you will not regret it. Try it out and let me know what you think. Enjoy!
