Date of dining experience: August 9, 2015
Place: The Schlafly Tap Room
Location: 2100 Locust St. in St. Louis, MO
Food: Lamb & Beef Shepherd's Pie ($13.75) - Ground lamb and beef, peas and carrots, and broiled mashed potatoes. This is a great comfort food and goes very well with a beer tasting.
Dessert: STP - sticky toffee pudding ($7.50). Amazingly mouth-watering! This is a Scottish cake (kind of like a date cake) with warm caramel sauce and freshly whipped cream.
Beers:
Elderflower Maibock (6.8 ABV and 25 IBUs)
Kellerbier (5.5 ABV and 25 IBUs)
STL Brews Saison (collaboration - 5.0 ABV and 17 IBUs)
Hop Trial Azacca (limited draft-only release to try a new kind of hops - 6.5 ABV and 45 IBUs)
Yakima Wheat Ale (5.0 ABV and 25 IBUs)
Oktoberfest (5.5 ABV and 25 IBUs)
Hard Apple Cider (7.2 ABV)
I am a huge fan of breweries and tastings (beer or wine). I'm also an advocate of craft beer, so I believe everyone should experience how amazing and artistic beer can be. Try this place out and let me know what you think! Enjoy!
