Namaskar - Cape Girardeau, MO

Date of dining experience: December 31, 2015

Place: Namaskar

Location: 1001 Broadway St. in Cape Girardeau, MO

This restaurant is a buffet, which I am generally against. However, this particular buffet is unlike anything else in southeast Missouri. Namaskar is an Indian buffet (India the country, not Native Americans).

A lot of the dishes incorporate curry, but they are not all spicy. Some of the food items are:
Pakora Curry - Fried dumplings prepared with chickpea flour and spices.
Bhendi Fry - Fresh stir fried okra prepared with traditional spices. This was one of my favorites.
Channa Masala - Prepared with chickpeas, onion, tomato, coriander seed, garlic, chiles, and ginger.
Daal - Split lentils traditionally seasoned.
Butter Chicken - Marinated chicken in a mildly spiced buttered curry sauce.

BEWARE: Vindaloo Curry - Anything with this type of curry will be extremely spicy!

I thought this place was great and can't wait to go back with Audry so she can try it! Give it a try for yourself and let me know what you think about it! Enjoy!
