Date of dining experience: January 29, 2016
Place: JB Hook's
Location: 2260 Bagnell Dam Blvd. in Lake Ozark, MO
This is my favorite restaurant in the Lake of the Ozarks area!
Appetizer: Smoked Trout ($13.99) - Sea salt brine marinated, mesquite smoked in house and served with dill caper sauce. This is a fantastic starter and I get it every time I come here. The dill caper sauce is truly the best you will probably ever eat in your life.
Salad: Classic BLT Wedge Salad with a creamed bleu cheese dressing. This was by far the best wedge salad I've ever eaten (I haven't had very many), and the creamed bleu cheese really took out most of the "bite" associated with bleu cheese. Overall, delicious!
Entree: Salmon Oscar with steamed baby Brussels sprouts - Sauteed in white wine, lemon, and butter, topped with lump crab, asparagus, and bearnaise. I love a good fish and some good steamed vegetables, but add some crab and asparagus on top and I'm as giddy as little kid at Christmas.
JB Hook's receives my ultimate recommendation as the "must try" place at Lake of the Ozarks. On top of the food, I believe they have the best service and probably the best wine list in the area as well.
Try this place and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. When you do, please let me know how much you loved it! Enjoy!
