J. Bruner's - Lake of the Ozarks (MO)

Date of dining experience: January 27, 2016

Place: J. Bruner's Restaurant & Red Room Lounge

Location: 5166 Osage Beach Pkwy. in Osage Beach, MO

Appetizer: Onion Rings - The house-made batter on the onion rings is phenomenal. They come in a sharable size and the charge is $3 per person sharing.

Entree: Sea Bass ($29) - Roasted in parchment paper with sliced potatoes and sugar snap peas. This was the second best sea bass I've ever eaten. They came close to reaching the level of Dhafer's sea bass, but didn't quite make it. However, it was outstanding and paired very well with my wine.

Side: Grilled Asparagus ($7) - This was not the best I've eaten. It seemed a little undercooked to me and had virtually no seasoning on it at all, not even a little salt. Weird.

Wine: Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc ($12 glass) - With a restaurant of this quality, you're always going to pay inflated prices for alcoholic beverages. Still, it was worth to have a nice dry white with my sea bass.

I really enjoy Bruner's and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. However, it is not my favorite place to eat. Read more blogs to come to find out which restaurant is my favorite.

Try Bruner's the next time you are in the area. You won't be disappointed. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!
